THE COMMON EXPERIENCE by Victor Enyone Ojomah

    THE COMMON EXPERIENCE

    by: Ojomah Victor Enyone

(YOU CANNOT TRAVEL WITHIN AND STAND STILL WITHOUT)

The same experience and fate a poor and unsuccessful man is banking on as the sole cause of his poverty, is also the same experience and fate that a rich and successful man is boosting and banking on to be the source of his wealth.
    THE STORY OF THE SUCCESSFUL
There is something common about successful people in life that makes their story very interesting and inspiring, they always start like this…
    My name is Mr successful,
You know I was not born this way, but I chose to be different.
I am from a poor family but I chose not to produce a poor family.
I was born in a third world nation but I chose not to live the life of the third world.
The government were not helping matters, so I chose to help myself.
I was underpaid for several years but I decided to start paying myself.
There was unemployment everywhere so I chose to deploy myself.
There were no jobs so I chose to create jobs.
When the politicians misused our national resources I decided to use my natural resources (potentials).
I was rejected by many but I decided to accept myself.
I disobeyed the cultures and traditions of the people to make sure I fulfil the law of life.
I didn’t have opportunity to go to school but I chose to educate myself
I stop watching TV in order  to go find something to do.
I stop waiting for the messiah, I decided to become the messiah.
It was hard but I refuse to quit.
I bought ideas before I bought things.
I was ignorant but I decided to go for knowlege.
They doubted me, they discouraged me but I refused to give up

I had the freedom of speech to blame others and complain but I decided to put myself under the bondage and prison of taking responsibility for my fate; that is the outcome of my choice..
Now I am wealthy and successful.

    THE STORY OF THE UNSUCCESSFUL
There is something common about unsuccessful people in life that makes their story very depressing and discouraging; they always start like this…
You know I was born this way, I can't do anything about it.
I am from a poor family, that is why am poor, it is not that I don’t love to be rich.
The government is not helping matters that is why we are in this condition .
I don’t have anything to do that is why am watching the TV, .
I don’t have a job that is why am idle.
My salary is small that is why I can’t afford it.
Our politician are corrupt that is why we are like this.
Forget about the laws of life, this is what our tradition says and it must not end with me.
Oh I forgot to tell you I didn’t go to school that is why I am an illiterate .
I stop being honest because no one  rewarded me.
I refuse to take responsibility, before they start using me as servant.

They laugh at me several times then I had to stop.
I tried my best  but there was no result then I quitted.
I stop reading because I have no exam to write anymore.
I have three certificates, yet no one wants to employ me.
The situation of the country is bad; no one can really make it here.
He is just lucky, that is why he is running his mouth, no need to ask him questions.
Every successful man is a criminal and you know I want to make it to heaven .
I have heard of the messiah and  I am still waiting for him.
I was rejected, because of tribalism, was it my fault?
Our maths teacher is not good, that is why I  am not good at mathematics.
I have poor memory, i am not the only one it runs in our family.
I don’t have much that is why i am selfish.
The money isn’t much,  how do you expect me to give?
I don’t want to be at the bottom therefore I must read to pass.
I am not destined to be rich, if not why was I born in this country.

In my next world I will be rich.
When I was young, I had the latest dress, hairstyle, and attended every party, oh times hve just changed.
I think what my father said was right, we are cursed.
I would have done it but they say it has never been done
I doubted, I was scared, I was not supported, so I gave up.
I lost my parents, if not, I would have been rich.
From the story above we see that both the rich and poor were faced with the same problems and obstacles of life but the way they handled it determined the outcome of their life. If you accept anything it will stay, if you reject anything it will go whether good or bad.
