ATUPA
By ; Fowomola Kaothar Ibiwumi
In darkness where the moon refuse to show up and glow,
You alone clear our views,
Your light extends beyond the compound,
When you amuse us to play outside,
With your brightness in nightfalls.
To be hasten to hear the folktales after meal.
Staring at your burning flame,
Dancing and shutting off when winds blow,
But you won't quench that colourful blaze,
Because you are firm and undoubted.
You are also a security,
As we prepare to fall asleep,
You are tuned down to burn slow,
Here you show the thief's shadow,
Awaken at once to be at alert!
As your gaze made Baba trace a night breaker,
With his gun!
You are the amazement of nature,
Who makes the fireflies arouse and set for the night,
Crickets hide and sing for your endearment.
A scent of your oil,
To ignite for lovers at twilight.
How memorable moments of your kind,
To keep with us as an art.
Wow
