Highlights of the occasion was the official commencement of the event with a precise, youthful and inspiring presentation by the MD, Engineer Paul Olagunju, he left us with a simple quote saying " Talents are like perfume and sugar" Were ever you are, Start, your talent will eventually be felt and people must rally round to praise and pay.
Tedx videos were played with strong and direct messages on thinking, ability to succeed using Nigeria context as reference point. Infrastructure, capital and people are the basics said for long lasting success of a business.
A critical question was asked, Why do we build a business?
For money, inheritances or philosophy. When you build a business for philosophical reasons then such business will leave after you, a man who starts a business for money after he or she gain substantial amount abandons such business or sell it off, same goes to inheritances, we pass on to our children and it keeps going.
Young business owners were advised by the first speaker Mr Lanre Olagunju on key IT businesses currently in hot demand till year 2020, this significantly brings to bare the foresight and critical thinking of the organizers for the event. Mr Adedeji Olaoluwa gave a touching, live account on how family riches turned sour, his dad was critically injured during a robbery attack his heart was affected, all the family wealth exusted on this illment, it triggered young Olaoluwa to think outside the box at age 14, how he persuaded his friends back in school to save their pocket money in his (unregistered) microfinance bank is still a mystery to him, lacking business guide he didn't invest his gains. Today Mr Olaoluwa Adedeji is the Co-founder of OOA Business and Consultants, his a business consultant with clients from various parts of the world including, US, and England. He taught and talked about the core basics starting a business, business plan, Financial plan including right attitude to bring forth in business. The final speaker Mr Kehinde Sogule, delivered his lecture via skpe, an online app for video calls, this is another point on the part of IdeaPark, showing technology connects the globe within seconds.
