The issue of premarital sex is often avoided by many. Most seem to have taken the, " I’m minding my business attitude" and so they have learnt not to voice out their opinion about this burning issue. They believe everyone has the right to his or her sexual life but, do we, really? Do we really have a right to our sexual life? Was sex created for man to enjoy anytime and with anybody he feels like? Is sex supposed to be an ordinary activity just like running, dancing or eating? Or, is it more than that?
As a Christian, whether premarital sex is good or not is not an issue that should be up for debate. The Bible has already made it clear to us that sex before marriage is a sin. Which means if you are indulging in it, you are a sinner. Just before you throw daggers at me remember I’m not the one who called the shot that having sex before marriage should be a sin. God did and since we answer to HIM, we are supposed to obey his instructions. I’m not here to play the holier than thou game please.
God designed sex for marriage. That is, it is an action that is supposed to take place between two people who have been joined together to become one. Some people are of the opinion that there is nothing wrong in having sex before marriage as long as you do it with someone you love. Emm, excuse me, if you truly love that person like you claim you do, why not get married and then you can have all the sex you truly want. Others are of the opinion that, how would you know if your partner is good in bed if you don’t have a taste of it before marriage? Really? So, if you do finally have a taste of it and you’re not sexually satisfied, does that mean the relationship will end? Is sex supposed to be the yardstick for a good relationship?
As a Christian having sex before marriage is a disobedience to God’s instructions anyone who disobeys God’s words will definitely get punished for it. Yes, God is a merciful God always ready to forgive but, such person will still face the repercussion for each action. Also, having sex before marriage could lead to unwanted pregnancy. I know there’s an invention called condom but, are condoms 100% safe? I still see some girls panic when they don’t see their period. If the condom was 100% safe, why do they need to be in panic mode? Now when they find out they are pregnant, the next step is to abort the baby which is even worse. Abortion is murder and murder is not just wrong in the eye of the law but, also with God. As humans we have no right to take someone else’s life because we didn’t give them that life. And what about STI and STD's, is it not better to safe yourself from all that stress?
On point!
