To the girl I never met (Poetry) By: Amaechi Emmanuel

To the girl I never met

    By: Amaechi Emmanuel

My heart was decidedly a vintage of time capsule, filled with mirror images of you. When I closed my eyes, I saw you standing. When I breathe in, I perceived your smell. When I wrapped my arms around, it was you I embraced. When I listened to my heartbeat, I heard the message in your soul. As I looked, I saw you smiling at me with your immaculate white set of teeth, sending darkness away from my destiny. You are everywhere, I feel you.

Your skin exudes the teracota of colourful beau. The breathing of your heart is the rhythm that keeps me awake. Your whispering is a lyrics that sooths the injured mind like a balm of Gilead.

You take hunger away from me whenever you are around. A moment without your presence is like a paleolithic of eons unending, my sweetie. I never chased a woman before. Never said *I love U* to a woman first, but saying it to you makes me committed.

Calling your names----Nene, Nogozi, Ijese, Blessed B, Cynthia, Zaynab, Oluwabukola, sends chivers and quivers in adrenalin of inseparable blood bond between us. No obverse in my comeliness.

The eloquence of your womanistic qualities are substance of uncommon purpose. The loud ululation of your silence is a tapestry of royalty. If the lords of Indians and ancient China collaborates, they can't afford you, mi lady!

With a humble heart on bended knees, am begging you, please, don't leave me.
