HEALTHY LIVING FOR WOMEN
By; Eneje, Sylvia Chinwe.
Its been said, women are the real builders of every society this is because without a woman giving birth to children, who transforms the world? humans will live an analogue kind of life. (Beaton, 2011).
A womans health emphasize on the overall experience of a woman, from physical to psychological and emotional wellbeing including child bearing functions and illness. To achieve the above responsibilities sheltered on us, healthy living plays a major role. Living healthy is not about adherence to strict regimen but rather it is about understanding our minds and body by practising a routine that is energizing and easy to maintain with the understanding that we are unique and what works for you might not totally work the other person's way.
Personal hygiene plays a key factor to healthy living. Personal hygiene are thoes basic practices we do in our daily lives to improve our health such as:
Taking our bath at least twice daily, brushing our teeth, washing hands before and after using the convience, wearing good deodrant and perfumes.
Eating balanced and organic foods will go a long way to boost our health.
We should endevour to take out time to plan our meals taking into cognisance that "we are what we eat".
Have you ever wonder why it is important to take a glass of water first thing in the morning?
This is because it activates our enzymes and get our body ready for the day. It is important we eat as kings, that is eating alot of fruits, vegetables and also food rich in fiber. We also should try to keep on check, levels of carbohydrates and high fatty foods which are dangerous to our health as they could cause cardiovascular diseases in the long run. Next time when you are seeing a movie, grab a bowl of fruits rather than pizza.
The importance of exercise in healthy living cannot be over emphasised, its not just about
hitting the gym with daily routine, as little as taking a walk, using the stairs rather than the
elavator, dancing is also a good forms of exercise. It helps to keep our body in check and promotes metabolism. So, why dont you take a walk next time rather than taking a cab.
Aviod risky behaviours and managing stress is another way to boost our health. Research has proven that excessive exposure to alcohol and smoking can cause life long damages the combination are high risk factors to Breast and Cevical cancers. We should understand that this diseases affect women when they are needed for the economic growth and stability of their families and society at large.
Stress on the otherhand is likely to occur when demand placed on you such as work, studies and relationship exceed your ability to cope. Although in few cases stress can be beneficial as they tend to boost the right energy, however, extreme amount of stress can have health consquences affecting our immune system, cardiovascular, neuroendocrine and central nervous system. Stress takes a toll on our emotions, affecting how we relate with one another. One can reduce stress level by finding positive healthy ways to relax but we first have to acknowledge the stressor and take it out.
Finally, incorporating these lifestyle behaviours or praticses into our daily life will
assist us build enough self esteem, knowing that a healthy woman is a happy woman an happy woman is always ready to make great impact.
