Why it all Happened.
Rabi'a Aminu Denaji
As you may know, the atmosphere and condition of people was hectic and unpleasant especially in Nigeria due to the covid19 pandemic.
People were made to stay indoors and it had significant effect especially to the poor as they had to go out and strive before they get something to bring home to their families.
The masses looked up to the government to provide succor because it was the government that restricted movement. Sadly, the truth is government cannot provide for every single person, instead, policies and programs could be implemented targeting how to cater for the masses during the lockdown.
Unfortunately, life has become something else after the lockdown. Nigerians are complaining seriously, the Nigerian economy has significantly changed, prices of commodities, food items, fuel price and even NEPA - electricity tariff is high. Some prices have doubled while others tripled.
For many who could not bear this terrible situation! What will happen if we continue to live like this? And where is the problem from? Is it the outbreak of this pandemic or the ignorance of our leaders? citizens hip more blame on the government, they can't feel its effort, all they do is to criticise the actions of the government. This is a major problem on its own.
Nigerians should put in mind that the government cannot eradicate poverty completely but can enhance the living conditions of its citizens by providing job opportunities and other services it could render as a major priority and responsibility.
