         SWEET TRA-P-TA-TAP-TRA-P-P

    By; Nnamuchi .P. Ezinne

And they run helter skelter to hide in a shelter...

Start rolling the table tennis net, an egg cant too...

Steps trapped by tra-p-ta-tap-tra-p-p sound which descending like an angel from the sky...

She cursed the moment lamenting to a hungry fellow
for not seizing clear clouds to get her food,
Worms in her stomach rumbles and cry
For her empty food flask hang on her right hands...

While others cursed the moment, I bless and thank God of shower...

    Rush to the entrance
    Daniels (domot)
Just to confirm the sound I hear...

I took a bolder steps forward,
check, whether this weather was playing tricks on us,
It would disappoint always leaving us with prickle from the heat especially at night...

My nose was not late this time
I threw my arms into the sky's, shouting,
Oh thank God for this long awaited sweet tra-p-ta-tap-tra-p-p
first rain! May the lord be praised
I saw it on the dusty roof echo...

I released my hands to earth,
Dusty sweet smell from the first rain filled the air
I reminisce on how we use to lick them during our childhood days,
Thinking it was gold and how we rolled in the dust with folks and fellas chanting *booh booh booh kiri booh song*
for the first rain with just pants and some with protruding stomachs

Alas, now I am a lady of simplicity who never forgets her originality...

I was brought back to reality right in front of the library with a scream "thank God for the first rain in Ilorin city!"

    I strolled out,
Everywhere looked fresh and neat, aside gutters by the street...
Roofs jumped about with great joy for the quench of their thirst at last...
Goats strolled in a more elegant way, it's about time they enjoyed the freshness of the greenland...
Aanh! chickens were not left out, glad of their noddles "earthworms" will be added to their food menu!

These were euphoric moments enjoyed as the tra-p-ta-tap-tra-p-p sound was over, cool breeze comes on board to be shared for us and those abroad !

I love the sweet tra-p-ta-tap-tra-p-p sound wish to hear more of your sweetness...
