One question that has been coming to mind  recently is, why do ladies use makeup? I am a lover of makeup or maybe not, but I do appreciate makeup especially when it is done in moderation. On a normal day you would hardly see me on makeup expect if you consider the Robb I use for my lips as makeup. Oh! I recently started using lip gloss. OK, once in a while I use lipstick sha. I’m not lying when I say that I have had my face beat only three times since I’ve been on this planet called earth. The first was when my set (class of 2018 English department Kwara State University) wanted to do a photo shoot, the second was during my final year dinner and the third was during my graduation. Those three times, I felt so awkward and I couldn’t wait to get the makeup off my face and finally be free. When I did, it felt so good. I finally had the chance to touch my face the way I wanted to and not worry about half my eyebrow coming off. Oh, the joy that filled my soul. Have you ever had that moment when you wear white and a lady who has her face full on makeup hugs you? Girl, look what you did to my shirt.

Why do ladies use makeup? Why is it that 90% of females in this generation find it difficult to leave their houses without putting on makeup? Does it mean that ladies feel they have to wear makeup to be beautiful? Does it mean that ladies don’t appreciate their natural look? Because if you do, you wouldn’t want to cover it up with some contour and highlights all the time. Emphasis on all the time. Are ladies who wear makeup all the time suffering from insecurity? Do ladies wear makeup because they think that’s what guys like? Do guys really love when ladies use makeup? Will a guy appreciate the beauty of a lady wearing makeup more than the one who isn’t on makeup?
 
Whatever the reason, my advice is, ladies, don’t let makeup be your definition of the word 'beautiful'. Fine, makeup (done properly) has the power to make you beautiful. But, at the same time do not feel without it you would be ugly. Or maybe you would, lol. Also, when purchasing makeup products, purchase the ones that are for your skin type so that you will not end up looking like the white version of yourself. Don’t just use any makeup product because you want to feel among. Makeup has to do with the skin and using of substandard  products can affect your skin. And dear female, it’s OK to go out once in a while without using makeup. You don’t have to set an unnecessary standard for yourself. If you are not proud of your natural self no one will. Like they say, beauty is from within.

PS: Can ladies please stop using colours other than brown for their eyebrows. Thank you as you comply.
