Doris Dauda was the cynosure of all eyes as "Aesthetics and Tranquility" (Heritage of the Plateau), a 5 day maiden solo Art exhibition of paintings and sculpture work held at the Plateau State library complex beside Plateau state polytechnic, Jos campus. This exhibition serves as her contribution in promoting art and culture on the Plateau. It was an interesting scene to behold, as Corp members, family, Ministry of culture and tourism, Fine Art department of (ABU) Zaria, friends, lovers of art and the entire NYSC Educational Development Group, (EDG) gathered in their numbers to celebrate one of her own. In display were 52 art works comprising of paintings and sculptures reflecting the heritage of Plateau and the society at large. Among the eye catching works was the portrait of two great personalities on the Plateau, Governor Lalung Simon and Barrister Solomon Dalong. Another of Doris colorful paintings show the usual hectic life in Lagos, buses cluster together, still, traders find a way to carry out daily activities, business continues this way on a routine. A lot of Doris paintings and sculptural work portray the place and significance of womanhood through the stress and progress of humanity, as seen, were a woman is beautifully dressed in African attire with coral beads decorating her neck while she enjoy pounding a clay pot, according to Doris, as a female artist I share in the pain women have to go through in the world today, as an artist I want to encourage the Nigerian woman not to be intimidated or have low self esteem but to believe in themselves and sow high in everything they do. Every art work had an interesting story to tell. Doris Dauda is a native of Gbayi, from F.C.T Abuja, she's a fine art graduate, whom specialize in sculpture at ABU Zaria. Doris is a corp member serving in Plateau State, Jos. A lady with a passion for art likewise supportive family and a colorful mind, she dreams of caving her name amongst Nigerian best artist
